AXI strengthens its SME offering and takes its first strategic step into Wallonia.
Today AXI announced the acquisition of two Belgian IT companies: Willux, an established Managed Services Provider (MSP) based in East Flanders and focused on SMEs and non-profit organisations, and Megabyte Infrastructure (MBI), a Walloon IT infrastructure specialist headquartered in Namur. Together, Willux and MBI serve approximately 1,150 customers and generate more than €11 million in revenue. With this double acquisition, AXI significantly strengthens its SME division while expanding its services into Wallonia.
With the acquisition of Willux, AXI adds a highly profitable MSP profile with a strong and well-developed Modern Workplace offering. Willux supports more than 450 customers and has a proven track record in integrating customer portfolios, including the recent integrations of Rovacon and Double U.
Megabyte Infrastructure adds a complementary story as a well-established IT infrastructure partner with around 700 customers and a strong recurring revenue base. Until today, MBI was part of the international software group LISAM, which acquired the company in 2019 to support its internal IT needs. Due to the international expansion of LISAM’s software activities, MBI no longer aligned with the group’s strategic focus. AXI now offers MBI a new home as a pure-play IT service provider and MSP platform.

“With Willux and MBI, we are taking two important steps at once,” says Bart Verhelst, Group CEO of AXI. “Willux was built by an entrepreneur who has put customers first for more than two decades. That mindset, combined with the strong team behind it, is exactly what we were looking for to further strengthen our SME division. We already had a strong presence in East Flanders, and this allows us to expand even further.”
“With MBI, we are also taking our first step into Wallonia. For us, MBI is the right partner to expand our services to Walloon SMEs. The team in Namur knows its customers and the local market inside out. That local presence is crucial in a sector where trust and proximity make all the difference.”
“After more than twenty years of entrepreneurship, this is the right moment and the right partner for me,” says Peter Steppe, founder of Willux. “AXI gives us the scale and expertise to support our customers even better, while allowing us to preserve our own identity and way of working. I will remain closely involved in the further growth of the company and in continuing to deliver true IT peace of mind.”
“For MBI and our team, this is a new beginning with a partner that truly understands our sector,” says Emmanuel Givron, Manager at Megabyte Infrastructure. “AXI is a specialised IT partner with a clear ambition and the operational strength to help us grow further. We can now offer our customers in Wallonia a much broader range of services, while maintaining our local roots and trusted presence in Namur.”
More than 40 employees from Willux and MBI will continue working from their current locations and will be integrated into AXI’s SME division.
