The AXI Talent Program 2023 welcomes starters in style

The AXI Talent Program, an intensive onboarding program for juniors or recent graduates joining AXI, welcomed 13 enthusiastic newcomers this year. They took their first steps at AXI in style: a meet & greet with our CEO, three weeks of intensive workshops interspersed with challenging and fun team-building activities. This program is designed to give newcomers a warm welcome and quickly integrate them into the AXI family.

Learning from colleagues

The program offered a diverse range of activities. Extensive onboarding was provided and numerous get-to-know-each-other sessions were organized. For example, Rob De Rijk, Functional Analyst at AXI, shared his career path and experiences at AXI, Nordine Demmou, Business Unit Manager at AXI, introduced AXI E-voting, and the digital transformation colleagues discussed our IT Services.

In addition, several inspiring technical sessions were organized on topics including Java, .NET, scrum, and Prince2. Participants were also challenged during the AXI Hackathon. And because you can't always keep busy, the program was combined with relaxation sessions such as a visit to an escape room.

From new colleague to team member

A team spirit quickly developed, and by the end of the program, all participants felt like full members of the AXI team. "The dedication of the various colleagues, the sessions, and the pride with which AXI colleagues spoke about their work were remarkable," says Evi Van der Vliet, Recruitment Manager at AXI.

"The program is designed to welcome new starters and give them a thorough introduction to colleagues and our operations." "We're truly committed to talent," adds Evi. "Through the AXI Talent Program, we try to give starters a foothold and make their start as smooth as possible. This is certainly not an unnecessary luxury in times when talent is scarce and sought after."

Versatile AXI family

The participants in the AXI Talent Program vary in expertise and knowledge. Among the newcomers are .NET, Java, and Oracle developers, functional analysts, project managers, and service desk consultants. "A great mix that perfectly complements AXI's strength and versatility," says Evi.

AXI Welcome Days in the Ardennes

After completing the AXI Talent Program, the group attended the AXI Welcome Days in Durbuy, a two-day event focused on meetings with management and various team-building activities. It's organized annually for everyone who joined AXI in the past year. "The newcomers from the AXI Talent Program couldn't be left out," says Evi. "A total of 55 new colleagues participated. They held content-based sessions, participated in sports activities, and enjoyed culinary delights."
